How to start planning a Patio
The patio slab must be an integral part of the over-all plans for the house and its surroundings. There are many things that affect decisions regarding size, shape and placement. How important is privacy? (Do you occasionally want to use the patio for sunbathing) How do about prevailing winds? A constant breeze blowing through your favorite chair to relax outdoors can be very annoying. What about the interests of your garden? Want a picture-book effect to the borders of annuals of colors, or want to spend more time sitting?
Imagine the patio as outdoor space, not only as a place to clean the mud on his shoes or in a comfort zone for random deposits of bikes, toys, garden tools and the cat family. More yards today – if the factors are favorable govern – is expansion planned as a living room or family room with sliding glass doors between. If desired, go to the specific end of the job completely, you still will save approximately 50 percent to make the design and fitness. Often, you can save money by working as an assistant when you call a professional mason to make the casting and finishing.
header 2×4 grid pattern usually either S4S (wood that has appeared on all four sides) or special timber has been planned at one edge only. From that finished edge will be the only exposed part, the rough surface of the other three sides do not matter. Grid timber should be enough good stock, straight, sound, genealogical pieces as it will be easier to install.
Sometimes, the headers are sliced in half lengthwise to obtain two 2×4 2×2 each. The 2×2 is described as being the same size (the thickness of concrete must still be a minimum of 4 inches.)
There is a saving in the material when 2×2 used, but small stock can create problems unless the parts are extensively with galvanized nails to prevent the jump after the oil spill has hardened time and reduced some. Fans may find the convenience of working with the full-size material than offsets the savings in wood.
